The National Child Labour Project
The department has also successfully launched the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) in Dimapur district in 2008. Under this scheme, schools are established specifically for children below the age of 14 who are employed in those Occupations & Processes which are listed under hazardous category in the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act, 1986..

The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 has been amended by the Central Government and is now referred to as the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2016. The Trade Unions Act, 1926
